Pickleball Court Dimensions and Layout
A regulation, or official, pickleball court measures 20 feet by 44 feet, and that is the same size for singles and doubles. For comfortable, safe play we recommend a total playing surface of 30 feet by 60 feet, which gives players enough space to move behind the baseline and along the two sidelines. That extra court area matters most on an outdoor court, where wind and sun come into play. The net stands 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center, with posts set 22 feet apart. The non-volley zone, known as the kitchen, extends 7 feet from the net on each side. Wherever the site allows, we use a north south orientation so the sun stays out of players' eyes during the busy morning and evening hours.

Asphalt or concrete are both accepted bases for a pickleball court, and a standard concrete slab calls for at least 3.5 inches of 2,500 psi concrete. In Las Vegas, that standard alone is not enough. Our soil moves, and a plain slab can settle and crack within a few seasons. That is why we build on a post-tension concrete foundation engineered for local ground, cured and leveled to hold a true, consistent surface for years of daily play. Lighting
For evening play, we design LED lighting that avoids shadows and glare. A typical single court runs on two poles rated around 1,500 watts each, set 16 to 20 feet high and positioned to light the surface evenly while keeping spill out of neighbors' yards.
Finishing touches
