A regulation, or official, padel court measures 20 meters by 10 meters (about 66 by 33 feet), for a total playing surface of 200 square meters. Unlike tennis, padel is played inside an enclosed court, so you need a little more room around the structure: a typical total footprint is 22 meters by 12 meters (about 72 by 39 feet), with a clearance of roughly 0.5 to 1 meter of working space around the court. Service lines sit 6.95 meters from the net, and we lay out every padel court line and marking to regulation. An indoor or covered court needs a ceiling height of at least 6 meters (about 20 feet) so lobs play true. A padel court project involves more than pouring a surface, because what makes padel padel is the enclosure. The court is framed by walls of tempered safety glass and metal mesh, held in a powder-coated steel structure built to stay square and rust-free in the desert. The glass panels and steel mesh side walls are part of play: the ball comes off them, so the panels have to be true and the framing rock solid for consistent ball behavior and speed. A padel court starts with the base. We pour an engineered, reinforced concrete slab (with steel mesh reinforcement) and prepare the site with the leveling and drainage the enclosed structure and our climate demand, so water never accumulates on the surface. Padel is most often played on high-quality artificial turf filled with silica sand, which gives the traction and consistent ball bounce the game needs, and we also offer an acrylic surface if you prefer. Either way, proper site preparation, a solid base, and a well-designed drainage system are what protect the court's structural integrity and keep it playing true for years.
