What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used or measure whether an advertisement worked. This page lists the ones we actually use, by category.
Strictly necessary
These make the site and its quote form work. They cannot be turned off without breaking the form.
| Set by | Purpose | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Confirms a real person is submitting the quote form, so we do not receive spam | Session, or up to 30 minutes per challenge |
| Cloudflare | Security and performance for the site itself, including bot filtering | Session to 30 days |
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people read and how they arrived. We use it in aggregate, to decide what to write and fix, not to identify individuals.
| Cookie | Purpose | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one browser from another | 2 years |
_ga_* | Keeps analytics session state for this property | 2 years |
Map
The project map on our homepage and service-area pages is provided by Mapbox. It sets no cookies. When the map loads, Mapbox's map software saves a random identifier in your browser's local storage and uses it to count map views for Mapbox. Nothing is stored unless you scroll to a map.
| Local storage item | Purpose | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
mapbox.eventData* | A random anonymous identifier and map-view counters Mapbox uses for usage reporting | The identifier is replaced every 24 hours; the entries stay until you clear site data |
Instagram feed
The Instagram feed on our homepage is provided by Elfsight. It sets one cookie of its own.
| Cookie | Purpose | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
elfsight_viewed_recently | Stops the same visitor from being counted as a new view of the feed on every page load | Short term |
Advertising
We advertise on Google. These let Google tell us that a quote request came from an ad click, so we know which ads are worth running.
| Cookie or parameter | Purpose | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Links an ad click to a later quote request | 90 days |
_gcl_aw | Stores the ad click identifier for conversion measurement | 90 days |
gclid (URL parameter) | Identifies the ad click that brought you here | Not stored by us beyond the above |
We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or message to Google, and we do not use these cookies to build advertising audiences from your form submission.
How to opt out
- Your browser. Every major browser can block or delete cookies in its privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop the quote form from submitting, so call us instead if you do.
- Map storage. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it. Private or incognito windows discard it when closed.
- Google Analytics. Install Google's official browser opt-out add-on attools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google ad personalization. Adjust it atadssettings.google.com.
- Tracking protection. Browsers with tracking protection built in will already block the analytics and advertising cookies above. The site works normally either way.
Why you do not see a cookie banner
We are a local contractor serving Southern Nevada, and this site is aimed at people in Nevada. We do not currently show a consent banner. We would need to add one before advertising to visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, where consent is required before analytics and advertising cookies may be set.
Changes
If we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, this page and ourPrivacy Policy are updated in the same change.
